The Marriage Encounter is a weekend experience for married couples with good relationships. Rediscover each other and focus on your relationship through communication and prayer.
Mission and Purpose
Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers a weekend experience designed to give married couples the opportunity to learn a technique of loving communication that they can use for the rest of their lives. It's a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and God. It's a time to share their feelings, hopes and dreams with each other. It's also a time to listen to each other.
The emphasis of the Marriage Encounter weekend is on the communication between husbands and wives. The weekend provides a conducive environment for couples to spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, while encouraging them to focus on each other and their relationship.
Meetings
Marriage Encounter weekends are held several times a year at local Hotels and/or Retreat Houses, Friday night through Sunday afternoon. There are optional post-weekend Community Gatherings twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month in the local area.
Ministry of Mothers

Mission and Purpose
The goal of the Ministry of Mothers is to provide emotional and spiritual support to mothers; social activities for mothers and their families, and service to mothers in the community.
Meetings
The Mother's group meets on the first Thursday of the month from September to June from 9:30 am to 11:30 am in the parish hall. Babysitting is available for a minimal charge during the meeting.
Activities
Some of the activities of this ministry are to help provide meals for families in times of need, and to help sustain the out reach program to our sister parish, Our Lady of Angel's. The mother's are involved in activities for Advent and Pentecost, food and clothing drives, and help in many relief services.
Ministry to the Sick & Home Bound
These stewards provide spiritual support to the Sick and Home Bound of our parish. They bring the community to those who cannot participate in liturgy.
Mission and Purpose
One of the most important aspects of a faith community is gathering together. Like any family there are times when loved ones cannot be part of a family get-together. It is most important at these times that the community reaches out in prayer and love to the missing member. Ministry to the Sick and Home Bound provides weekly communion, prayers and maintains a link to the whole parish community.
Skills & Time Required
Ministers to the Sick and Home Bound must be (or have been) a Eucharistic Minister. The Minister normally visits two to four families once every four to five weeks. Normally this is done on Sunday. Anyone interested in this ministry will be trained.

Mission and Purpose
- The Prayer Wheel is a network of parishioners dedicated to pray for the whole community. Members of the Prayer Wheel receive prayer requests by phone, email, and word of mouth from the community at large and pray for those needs.
- Praying for one another is something everyone can and should do as part of a Christian community. Young or old, rich or poor, active or shut-in all are called to take the needs of our brothers and sisters before the Father in prayer.
Rosary Cenacle
Facilitator: Rosemary Goodman • 858-556-0284 • Email: regoodman@sbcglobal.net
The Rosary Cenacle is a group of dedicated parishioners devoted to praying the Rosary for the spiritual and temporal needs of all.
Mission and Purpose
One of the most widely practiced and spiritually engaging Catholic devotions is the Rosary. Identified as a Marian prayer because of its repetition of Hail Marys, it is in fact a series of meditations (the mysteries) built around the life, death, and Resurrection of Christ. The Cenacles pray especially for the welfare of Christian Families.
Meetings
The Rosary Cenacle meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Prayer meeting lasts between one to two hours.
Rosary Makers
Facilitator: Lucie Hoge • 619 328-8314• Email: lahoge@san.rr.com
To actively encourage praying the Rosary and to provide rosaries for free of charge to missions in many areas of the world.
Mission and Purpose
- The gift of prayer helps us to stay connected to the will of God. Prayer opens us to listen and respond to God's desire for us. The rosary has been handed down through the centuries as a comforting tool of Meditation.
- To aid in this centuries old tradition members of our parish hand make rosaries to send to the missions. The Rosary Makers gather on the third Friday of each month at 10:00 am in the parish hall. With each bead that is strung and knot tied there is a prayer present and future that is sent for the salvation of all.
- If you would like to help, we can teach you how to craft the rosaries. We supply materials so you can work at home. It's easy, fun, and for a great cause.
