Additional Camp Info

  • On Monday at the first day of camp you should arrive between 8:30am – 8:45am.  The sign-in area will be in the parking lot just south of the Parish Hall.  For the remainder of camp the children can arrive between 8:45 – 8:55am.  Sign in for the rest of the week will continue to be at this location – the south end of the parking lot.
  • On the first day of VBS the campers will receive a T-shirt.  We would like them to wear this shirt each day of the camp.  The shirts are “color coded” so we can easily see that the children are in their assigned areas as they travel from station to station while they are at camp. When you sign them in on Monday we will give you their t-shirt and you can swap the shirt they are wearing with their VBS camper shirt.
  • Attire for the camp is casual.  Some of their activities will be outside and some inside.  They should wear comfortable clothing such as shorts, their VBS t-shirt, tennis shoes, and sun screen.   The campers may get wet while participating in the games and possibly a little dirty.  So they should wear their “play clothes,” not their “Sunday best”.
  • There is no need to send a snack or beverage with them to camp.  Each day the campers will attend a snack station.  Additionally, we will have beverage stations set up throughout the church grounds to ensure water is available to keep the children hydrated.
  • Each day the children will bring home a “Notes from the Nile that will include a story tying the activities your child participated in with the Bible point of the day.  A “Daily Challenge” should be chosen from the options identified on the postcard.  This will give your child an opportunity to discuss the Bible point of the day and help reinforce it by completing an activity that brings it to life.  Your child will discuss the Daily Challenge that they completed with the rest of their VBS family the next day.
  • Pick-up time is 12:10 – 12:15 on Monday -Thursday.  Location of pick-up is the Gathering Plaza by church.  The final station of the day, Celebration Time, will be held in the church.  Parents are invited to attend this last station of the day if you wish.  Also, the campers will attend the 12noon mass on Friday the week of the camp.  Pick up time is approximately 12:40 – 12:45 on Friday.  Of course parents are invited to attend the mass also if you like.
