YOU Can Change a Life
Support the Children of Our Lady of Angels, Our Sister Parish

Your gift funds a scholarship for a child to attend Our Lady’s school, where almost 80% of students need tuition assistance and where over 65% of families live at the US poverty level. The principal, a Jesuit priest, does not take a salary. Almost 160 children, from Transitional kindergarten through 8th Grade attend, and 100% went on to Catholic high school in 2022.

Our goal is $6000. We hope to exceed it because more support = more scholarships and more children benefitting from a Catholic education.

Why do these children need our help?

At Our Lady’s School…

  • 157 children attend (transitional Kindergarten through Grade 8).
  • 79% of students receive tuition assistance.
  • Of these, 67% live at the US poverty level.
  • Tuition covers only half of the operating costs; the difference comes through donations.
  • The entire 8th Grade class has been accepted to top Catholic and private high schools this year! (The acceptance rate at other local schools is about 60%.)
  • Overhead is very low. The principal, a Jesuit priest, takes no salary and the lead administrator donates her time.
  • The neighborhood has high unemployment, gang activity, and homelessness.
