Every year, the Deacons of the Diocese organize the 2 Million Meals Event in June. On the weekend of June 12th through 14th, we invite parishioners to share their time, talent, and treasure to support packing 2 million meals. These meals are distributed to local and global charities that provide food to underprivileged families. I am extending an invitation to you to come and help pack these meals, and also to share your treasure to cover the cost of the food we pack.
As parents, you have a great opportunity to model for your children that we are all called to help our brothers and sisters in need. This event is family-friendly, which means your kids can participate too. It only requires a 3-hour commitment, and there are multiple shifts available over the weekend to fit your schedule. Last year, over 45 parishioners helped pack meals, and even more donated to cover the cost of the food.
