Session Times:  (select one)

1. Sundays 6:30-8:00 pm
Currently offered online.  Once we receive permission to safely return to in-person meetings, the Sunday session will become an in-person class.

2. Tuesdays 6:30-8:00 pm
The Tuesday session will remain online for the entire 2020-2021 session.

Please Note: There will not be an opportunity to switch sessions once registered.  We want to keep your teens in their small groups for the entire 2020-2021 session.

Family Requirements:

1. Family Registration.  We want to welcome you to both the youth ministry program and to our parish family. Visit our parish registration page to register.

2. Certificate of Baptism. If your student was not baptized at St. Gregory the Great, a copy of the student’s certificate of baptism is required.

Please upload a copy with the registration, or email  jtoole@stgg.org  with a copy. In the email subject line, please include the student’s first name, last name and year (1). For example, “John Smith Year 1”.

3. Parent Meeting. Please plan to attend the mandatory parent meeting at a future date to be announced. Both parents are encouraged to attend. (No teens please!)

4. Parent Night. Please plan to attend a minimum of two educational events regarding relevant family/teenage challenges. Dates and topics to be announced.

5. Parent Volunteer Corp.  Your service makes a difference! The Confirmation program has many aspects to it which are important to the development of our young Christian teenagers. We request ONE parent from each family to volunteer support for our ministry.

Some examples include: being a Small Group Leader for our teens, chaperoning retreats and other events, serving pizza on Sunday evenings, driving a carpool to the retreat center, or even supervising the Christmas fundraising event. There is something for everyone. Sign-ups will be available at the Parent Meeting.

Student Requirements:

1. Gmail Address. All information regarding Confirmation class will be made available through Google Classroom. For this reason, all students are required to provide a Gmail address to gain access to the content. Click here to create a FREE account if needed.

2. Interview. Students are asked to schedule two interviews with the youth minister. More information to follow.

3. Retreat. Teens will attend a mandatory Year One Confirmation Retreat. More information to follow.

4. Youth Mass. Weekly participation at Mass is required; Sunday at 4:00pm is our youth-led Mass. For more information click  here.

5. Confirmation Sessions. Attend all Confirmation sessions. Students are allowed one unexcused absence and one absence that is made-up with an assignment.  Click here for make-up sessions.

6. Life Nights. Attend a minimum of four (4) Life Nights. A student can attend one monthly scheduled Thursday Adoration night in lieu of one Life Night credit. For more information, click here.

7. Service Hours. Students must complete ten (10) hours of community service.  Five (5) hours are to be completed through a Saint Gregory the Great Ministry and the other five (5) hours may be completed with another organization.

Confirmation Sponsor

To be fully enrolled in the confirmation program, you need a sponsor.  Your sponsor should be someone who is an example of faith to you and someone whom you feel comfortable talking honestly with about your faith journey.

When selecting your sponsor, please consider the following:

  • Your sponsor must be a practicing member of the Catholic Church who has received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
  • Your sponsor CANNOT be one of your parents.
  • Your sponsor should be at least 18 years old and responsible for the task.
  • We recommend that your sponsor is local, in order to help you grow in your faith.

Once you have selected a sponsor, give them a copy of the sponsor information document, confirmation sponsor companion on the journey

Candidate/Sponsor Meeting:

Sponsors will be asked to attend a candidate/sponsor meeting.  Check the youth calendar for dates/times.
