“All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.”
St. Francis of Assisi “Canticle of the Creatures”
Blessing of Pets: Sunday, October 13, 12:15 pm
Our parish will celebrate the blessing of the pets in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi’s feast day. Saint Francis was canonized in 1228 and is best known as the patron saint of animals and the natural environment. It has been customary for churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on or near his feast day in October in remembrance of Francis’ love for all creatures.
Our blessing will be held on the grass on Sunday, October 13, at 12:15 pm. All pets will need to be restrained by a leash or carrier.
We hope to see you and your furry friends soon!
