“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The purpose of the Safety & Security Team is to assist any parishioner or guest who suffers a health emergency while on our Church and School campuses. Safety and security features such as community awareness, prevention programs, emergency situations, location of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), signage, location of fire extinguishers, etc., all fall under the scope of involvement.
This council is comprised of service-oriented parishioners geared toward the health and safety of others. Members include, but are not limited to, medical doctors, nurses, medical providers, emergency responders, firemen, and law enforcement officers.
If you have a sense of service to others and wish to be a member of the Health and Safety Council, please contact our facilitator.

“With recent events that have occurred throughout our country, The health and safety team have been working hard to implement some new health and safety measures.
You may see some parishioners with a card placed in front of them in the pew.
These cards make it easier for our ushers to identify the wonderful health care professionals who have agreed to serve their Parrish by offering to respond to a medical emergency, should one arise.
This is not an invitation to approach these parishioners and ask medical questions, or tell them the latest medical news you found on Dr. google😂
If you are a health care professional interested in serving your Parrish in this way , please get in contact with Linda Mullvain, her contact information is in the bulletin.
We take security seriously at both our church and school campus.
We have just applied for a grant requesting money to cover even more safety measures that we will be adding in this next year.
You will see more police drive by’s on our church and school campus. This is through a community program called D drive that the SD police department offers. This program acts as a deterrent to crime.
There are too many things in the works to mention in our limited time today ,but know that our safety team under my direction has made your safety a priority.
We need your assistance to help keep everyone safe.
If you see something, say something.
In that light , we are looking for men and women who are willing to serve our church community as observers by coming to the gathering plaza and around the parish hall. Come to whatever mass you plan to attend 20 minutes early and stay after mass for a short time. We just need more eyes and ears out there. This is a non confrontational position.
If you are interested in learning more about this program please contact me.”

We are entering cold, COVID, and flu season, so here are some general health reminders. Please stay home if you are sick. It is not a sin to miss mass if you are ill. The Sunday 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses are live-streamed, and we encourage you to join us that way if you are ill. If you have a fever, cough, or flu-like symptoms, please stay home to recover fully and prevent the spread of illness to others, especially our elderly and immunocompromised. We encourage you to wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. An alcohol based hand sanitizer is also a good option.

Hand sanitizer is available in the church for your convenience. Please remember to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the crook of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
To ensure the well-being of all congregants, we ask that you consider an alternative to handshaking during the sign of peace. A wave, a smile, a nod of the head, or a verbal greeting are all appropriate and considerate ways to share God’s peace. Please use hand sanitizer before receiving communion. Working together, we can help keep each other healthy. We pray for the health and recovery of all who are ill.
