Sundays 6:30 – 8:00 pm
1. Family Registration. We want to welcome you to both the youth ministry program and to our parish family. Visit our parish registration page to register.
2. Certificate of Baptism. If your candidate was not baptized at St. Gregory the Great, a copy of their Baptism certificate is required. Please upload a copy of the certificate with the registration.
3. Parent Meeting. Please plan to attend the mandatory parent meeting. Click here for the calendar. Both parents and candidates are encouraged to attend.
4. Parent Volunteer. Your service makes a difference! The Confirmation program has many aspects to it that are important to the development of our young Christian teenagers. We request that at least one parent from each family volunteer support for our ministry and dedicate their time to a minimum of five sessions. (Parents may split this duty.)
Some examples include: being a Small Group Leader for our candidates, chaperoning retreats (counts as three sessions) and other events, serving pizza on Sunday evenings, or even supervising the Christmas fundraising event. There is something for everyone. Sign-ups will be available at the Parent Meeting.
5. Attendance. We encourage parents and sponsors to attend any session they wish.
1. Youth Mass. Weekly Mass is (always) required. Preferably, the Sunday 5:00 pm Mass, but if your family goes to another Mass, please feel free to continue going to that Mass. Sunday at 5:00 pm is our youth-led Mass. For more information, click here.
2. Intro Interviews. There are many candidates in our program, so the Youth Ministry Team will meet with each candidate through the first part of the year (July – December).
3. Retreat. Candidates will attend a mandatory Year One Confirmation Retreat. Click here for the calendar.
4. Confirmation Sessions. Candidates are required to attend sessions regularly. Candidates will be allowed no more than three (3) absences. For special consideration due to illness, please contact the youth minister.
5. Youth Nights. Candidates are required to attend eight (8) youth nights. There are twelve (12) youth nights throughout the year. Every additional youth night after the required eight (8) can be used as a make-up for Confirmation absences.
6. Service Hours. Candidates must complete twenty (20) hours of Liturgical (in the Mass) service. Additionally, candidates must serve at ten (10) events in the parish (Donut Ministry, Fish Fry Dinners, etc.). Vacation Bible School (VBS) each day will count towards one event (up to five). For more information, click here. Service hours are recorded on the Service Hour Form
